Obituary of Paul King Howard

Paul King Howard, Sr,, age 60, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 26 at New Hope Baptist Church, 712 Burr Street at Minnehaha Avenue, St. Paul, with the Reverend Runney D. Patterson, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church (10-11 AM). Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full Military Honors accorded by the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Smith, Davie Givens, William Davis, Kevin Walker, Donald Myles, and William Givens. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Keith Walker and Damon Walker. Paul was born January 8, 1952 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Jesse James Howard and the late Catherine Scroggins. He lived in St. Paul and after graduating from Mechanic Arts High School, he joned the US Navy and was stationed in Charleston, South Carolina. Paul was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Theresa Brown in Charleston, SC and from this union of 30 years, children were born: Sonnoc, Turkessa, Paul Jr., Demetria, Miss, and Helen Nicole. Paul returned to St. Paul where he met and married his present wife, Mary (Givens) Howard on August 13, 2008. Paul leaves a legazy of memories with his dedicated and loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Howard; children, Sonnoc (Tywone), Turkessa, Paul Jr. (Heather), Demetria, Miss, Helen Nicole, and Yukershala Givens; eleven grandchildren: Davonte, Darrett, Gavin, Paul III, Keston, Kamille, Dylan, Terry Jr., Roniya, Cameron, and Aunsheya; six sisters and three brothers; and a host of relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Travis, and sister, Judy Travis. Arrangements entrusted to the Spielman Mortuary.
