Obituary of Roy R. Bruchman

Roy R. Bruchman, age 89, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Maplewood Care Center. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, January 24 at First Presbyterian Church of White Bear Lake, 4821 Bloom Avenue, WBL, with the Reverend Neil Craigan officiating. A reception will follow the Memorial Service. A private interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by the United States Marines Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Trinia Bruchman, Erin Bruchman Preese, Ryan Bruchman, Lana Carlson, Melissa Bruchman Ethridge, and Lisa Carlson. Royal R. "Roy" Bruchman was born July 11, 1922 in Stockholm, WI to Ray and Marie Bruchman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doris Bruchman. He is survived by his sons, Steven (Elaine) and their children, Erin and Ryan; son Bruce and his children, Trinia, Melissa, and stepson Joe; daugher, Laurie (Craig) Carlson and their children, Lana and Lisa; 3 great-grandchildren. Roy was a National Sales Manager and was employed by 3M for 33 years. He was a lifelong volunteer and involved retiree at 3M in Maplewood. Roy was an acive member of the 3M Travel Club. He was an officer on the Board of Directors of thw White Bear Lake Chapter of the A.A.R.P. Roy was on the Board of Directors of the MN Utilities Investors Organization for 9 years. He was also a member of the American Legion, the China Marines Association, the First Marine Division Association and the Korean War Veterans Association. Roy's love for his wife and family was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a strong, kind, loving, and loyal man wiht a huge, generous, and tender heart. He will be missed terribly by all who knew him and will be forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Spielman Mortuary.
