Obituary of Eva Marie Callender

Eva Marie Smith was born to the late Clara and Willie Mae Smith on August 13, 1943. Growing up in Camden, Arkansas, she learned how to cook, clean and manage a household. Eva attended Lafayette High School where she graduated. Years later Eva moved to St. Paul, MN where she gained employment at Whirlpool Corporation. Eva later married Elroy Callender and they remained a loving couple until his death in 2011. Eva was a devoted member of Pilgrim Baptist Church for 30 years. Eva loved to cook, barbecue, entertain, spend time with family and friends and of course dance and sing. Let's not forget about her Miller beer. She loved her Minnesota Vikings, Barak Obama and watching sports. Eva was a loyal and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother and friend. She is now in the Lord's arms and will join all her loved ones who precede her in death, husband Elroy Callender, parents Clara and Willie Mae Smith, brother Master Sargent Cliffton Smith and sister Grace Owens. Eva leaves to cherish her memory, son Rodney, son Darryl (Quanita), daughter Sherri (Marvin), daughter Phyllis (Ronnie), son Eric (Jessica), 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters Robelene, Betty (Spencer), Shirley, and a host of relatives and friends.
