Obituary of Barbara Jean Harris

Barbara Jean Harris, age 62, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Regions Hospital, St. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, December 22 at the Spielman Mortuary with Pastor Stephanie Bond, officiating. There will be no visitation. Private Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Barbara Jean Harris was born January 7, 1949. She was the fourth child and the second daughter to the union of Willie James and Elizabeth Ann Harris. Barbara grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where she gained her education and graduated from Beaumont High School. She gave birth to her only child, Richard Lamarr in 1968. Barbara and her son moved to Minnesota in 1976 with her mother, Elizabeth, and started a whole new life. She worked in the nursing field for over 47 years. She had a loving and caring heart for many... Her world revolved around her son, Lamarr; grandchildre, Amira and Richard, Jr.; sisters, Carolyn and Geraldine; and niece, Carol (Stinky). They lived, loved, and laughed together always. Barbara loved to cook and go fishing (which she was great at.) Traveling to St. Louis to see her family whenever she got a chance to hit that highway was her thrill. Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at Spirit and Truth Worship Center in 2008. She loved the Pastor so much that she gave her a special nickname and the family knew who she was talkiing about instantly. Barbara was a phenomenal mother, outstanding grandmother, irreplacable sister, and a wonderful aunt who will be greatly missed. She took the highway to heaven to unite with her parents, Elizabeth and Willie, who prededed her in death, along with brothers, Willie James, Jr. (June), Richard Eugene (Rick), Wilbert Clyde; aunts, Pearl and Louvenia; all of her uncles, Alfred, William (Bill), Sylvester, Jerry, and Lewis; niece, Terina Lachelle, and great-nephew, Malik Zuriel. Loving memories will be cherished always be her son, Richard Lamarr of St. Paul, MN; granddaughter Amira Elizabeth; grandson, Richard Lamarr, Jr.; sisters, Geraldine Harris of St. Paul, Carolyn Harris of St. Paul, MN; sister in law, Barbara Ruth Harris, of Florissant, MO; and God Brother, James Lee (Doris) of St. Louis, MO.
