Obituary of Judith Carol Abdul-Shareef

Judith Carol Abdul-Shareef, age 58, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her residence in St. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, February 3 at True Spirit Ministries, 1114 Payne Avenue at Jessamine, St. Paul, with the Reverend Frederick Newell, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church (11 AM-12 Noon). Private Interment. Serving as pallbearers will be Maurice Mulberry, David Collins, Jerry Banks, LaDavid Collins, Donte' Wilson, and JaQuawn Jackson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bernell Colbert, Ronnie Zackery, Kenith Colbert, and Isiac Lee. Judith Carol McKeever Abdul-Shareef (Judy is what she was known by most) was born on May 30, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended Tech High School in Omaha. She later moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota. Judy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She joined True Spirit Ministries under the leadership of Frederick Newell in 2009. On August 21, 2010, she re-dedicated her life and was re-baptized. She attended Globe Business College in St. Paul, where she studied Medical Transcription and Business. She also attended St. Paul Technical College where she studied Data Entry. She married Muhammad Abdul-Shareef on May 23, 1983. She worked for St. Paul Public Schools until her health failed. On January 29, 2012, God decided he wanted to add another beautiful flower to his already beautiful garden. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Bernell Colbert; sister, Charlotte Colbert, and two special friends: Maudell Cox and Cecilia Brown. She leaves her husband, Muhammad Abdul-Shereef; daughters, Kila Dorsey, Audrey Dorsey, and Tenia McKeever; grandchildren, Tequila, Amir, Hassan, Cariana, and Mekail; three great-grandchildren; mother, Jean Lee of Ann Arbor, MI; sisters, Sandra and Monica of Little Rock, AR, Doris of Wichita, KS, Terri of Atlanta, GA, Maritta of Omaha, NE, Juliet and Tracy of Aurora, CO; brothers, Bernell of Ann Arbor, MI, Kenith and James of Omaha, NE, Ronnie of Hartford, CT, and Isiac of Dayton, OH; brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousines, and friends.
