Charlotte Wilson

Obituary of Charlotte Marie Wilson

On May 21, 2021 God sent forth HIS angels to escort HIS beloved daughter, Charlotte M. Wilson (Benner), to her final resting place. She passed peacefully at Our Lady of Peace Hospice. Born October 22, 1944 in St Paul, MN she was the 4th child born to Cornelius W and Ruth O Benner. Charlotte attended St Peter Claver Catholic School and graduated from St Paul Central High School in 1962. After high school she worked as a nursing assistant for Miller Hospital and retired after over 40 years from Northwestern Bell in 2007 (formerly Century Link). "Aunt Char" as she was called by most, was lovingly referred to as the "Black Martha Stewart." If she wasn’t cooking, baking, decorating, entertaining or knitting, she was learning, reading and researching topics such as: cooking, baking, decorating, entertaining and knitting. She often reached out to nieces and nephews to pick her up the latest cookbook, cookie magazine or to print a knitting pattern for herself off the internet. Her selflessness, giving, doing, and loving others rivaled the beauty of the elegant table settings she created. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius W and Ruth O Benner and brother, Michael Paul. She is survived by brothers, Cornelius III (Sara), Arthur (Carol) and Jerome (Susan); sisters, Bernadette and Elaine; William Benner, a nephew whom she loved as a son; also a host of other relatives and people she adored. Charlotte will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We thank Mr. Jesus for the time we shared with her, and pray her Faithfulness to God, the Father, and Son will live on through us, his humble servants, Amen! Public visitation 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Monday June 7th at The Church of St. Peter Claver, 375 N Oxford St, St Paul, MN 55104. There will be a private family Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Internment to be held at Elmhurst Cemetery. Char had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and a rosary will be said in her honor. The Church of St. Peter Claver is still requiring a mask for entrance to the church.
