Obituary of Samuel L Miller

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born... Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a Samuel L. Miller (Sammie) was born February 4, 1927 to Singleton and Fances Miller in Drew, MS. Sammie was the eldest born of three other siblings: Nellie, Gladys, and Singleton Jr.. His sister, Gladys, preceded him in death. A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:8 Sammie enlisted in the United States Army May 12, 1945. He served his country honorably in World War II. After his service, he settled in Chicago, Il. where he began a career as a truck driver that spanned over 40 years. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24:13 Sammie retired to Saint Paul, MN where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. It was here that he passed away at home with family at his side on November 28, 2012. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them... Psalm 127:5 Sammie was survived by his wife of 44 years, Rendiaetta; Seven Sons- Will, Alex, Samuel, Fred, Tyrone, Anthony, & Aloushia; Seven Daughters- Francis, Earlean, Gwen, Lorna, Falitia, Sonya, & Schaun; Two Step-Daughters- Claraetta & Schnell: And a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by three children- Alice May, Winfred Lee, & Ronnie; And one grandchild, Samuel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30am Friday December 7th at the Historic Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 11:30am. Interment, with full Military Honors, will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery immediately following the service.
