Obituary of Cheri Ann Bullock

Cheri Ann Bullock, fondly known as Sherry to her loved ones, peacefully departed this life surrounded by family on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the age of 69. She came into this world on February 10, 1955, as the second child of Laura Jean Battle and robert Eugene Battle Sr. in Omaha, Nebraska.

Cheri's journey led her to Indian Hill Elementary School in Omaha, where she embraced her faith in Christ. Following her mother's remarriage, the family relocated to Saint Paul, Minneost. She showcased her talents as a majorette in the ElksDrum and Bugle Corp Marching Band, garnering numerous accolades and victories.

Cheri swiftly gained recognition and became widely known. She enrolled at Ramsey Jr. High School and later graduated from Saint Paul Central High School in 1973. Cheri was reowned for her spirited personality, marked by a wit as sharp as her tongue. Her ability to articulate herself was evident in any circumstance, as she never sheid away from speaking her mind.

Music, fashion, and dance were among Cheri's passions. She effortlessly kept up iwth the latest trends, always impeccably dressed, and with her hair styled to perfection. Cheri's repertoire of dance moves, included the Funcky Chicken and the Bump, to name a few and was always ready and willing to teach anyone interested in the family living room. 

As a mother to LouShanda Battle and Robert 'Dawon" Battle, Cheri's love knew no bounds. LouShandaexplored entrepreneurial ventures as an adult, following in her mom's footsteps. 'Dawon,' her baby boy, was an outstanding athlete who had many achievements from his dedication to the sport and natural athleticism. She adored them both and was very proud and supportive of their accomplishments. 

Cheri's strong work ethic was evident throughout her life. Cheri drove the church van for Progressive Church, where she rededicated her life to Christ. She also successfully ran her cleaning service for several years. Despite facing health challenges later in life, she remained resilient, finding joy in family gatherings, old-school music, and the company of her grandchildren, children, and siblings. 

Cheri loved to cook for family gatherings; Christmas was an especially big event for her. It was common for her to show up as if she were Santa Claus, with a big garbage bag bearing gifts (trinkets big and small) for everyone. She always gave form her heart. Cheri could always be counted on in times of need. She was there to help you move and put up curtains, take care of kids or adults when sick, clean, cook, babsit, and do laundry - as well as her own.

Cheri Leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by her children; LouShanda Battle and Rober "Dawon" Battle; Her siblings Robert E. Battle Jr., Darwin Battle, Michelle Bridgeford, Michael Bridgeford, and Candance(Sayles) Ott; Fostered/adopted siblings including Williw Boone, Sherry Taylor, Twoanna Shorter, James Shorter, and countless others; Grandchildren Andre Weldon, DreShawn Battle, Chamaria McFalls, Khaleeah Battle, Rashad Battle, Anthony Weldon, Phillip McFalls Jr., Javon Neuman; Six bonus Grandchildren; Six Great-Grandchildren; an assortment of other family members; and her favorite Aunt, Shirley Triggs. 

Cheri is preceded in death by her Father Robert Eugene Battle Sr.; Mother Laura Jean 'Granny' Bridgeford; and her longtime boyfriend Victor Cummings.

Cheri's Spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
