Josalynn Q. Jones, also known as “Josie”, was born on March 31, 1977 in Chicago, IL to Andrew Lee Jones, Sr. and Lucille Jones. Josalynn was the 7th child of nine children. She was educated in the Chicago Public Schools, including elementary at Will Scott Christian Academy and also attending Jones Commercial of Chicago. Josalynn moved from Chicago in 1993 and graduated from Roosevelt Senior High in MN in 1995.
Josalynn made her transition to be with our Lord on November 22, 2020. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Onesha Jones; father, Andrew Lee Jones, Sr.; grandmothers, Mayola Hamp and Lucille Johnson; nephews, Jeremiah and Lavelle; also, a niece, Zion. She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Jayla, Layla and Malea; mother, Lucille Jones of Chicago; six sisters, Nedra of Indiana, Andrea of Florida, Marilyn, Yolanda and her twin sister Jacylynn all of Minnesota, and Leticia of Chicago; two brothers, Andrew Jr. and Christopher both of Minnesota; also a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, the Whipple family and friends.
Josalynn was a kindhearted, loving, sweet, giving, passionate person who loved to cook. Her specialty was the Seven Layer salad. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her daughters. She enjoyed shopping, taking pictures and her girls. She will be deeply missed by all.
Service 12 Noon Monday, December 7th at the Spielman Mortuary, 344 W. University Ave. St. Paul. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 12 noon). The service will be live streamed on ZOOM starting at 12:00 p.m. (Meeting ID: 707 361 1692 / Passcode: 987698)
In accordance with Minnesota Health Department regulations, we can accommodate a maximum of 45 people in the mortuary at any given time. Please be respectful and limit your time in the mortuary if it appears to be getting crowded. Also, in accordance with Minnesota Health Department regulations, you are required to wear a face covering to enter and while inside the mortuary.
