Angela “Angie” was born to the union of Zeraldine “Jerri” (Jackson) Scruggs and Glen E. Churcher on September 22, 1968 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Angie was the fifth child of her mothers seven children. She accepted Christ into her life at a very young age, and was a God-fearing woman. She was a member of Peace Tabernacle Assembly of God, where she rededicated her life to Christ in 2011. In the year 1988, June 29 she was graced with her first born daughter Shona K. Jackson. Five years later on July 9, 1993 she was blessed with her second daughter Precious K. Cotton. Angie's two daughters, and grandchildren were the joy of her life. Angie attended Highland Park Sr. High School and graduated with honors. She continued her education and obtained a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. She went on to work as an employee of Bethel Care Center, where she provided services to the elderly and disabled. She also worked at the U of M Registrar’s Office where she was a dedicated employee for 2 years. She truly believed that cleanliness was next to Godliness which sparked her interest in starting her own cleaning service which she was in the process of perfecting. Angie was an amazing cook and one of her favorite dishes to prepare was chicken and dumplings, which has always been a family favorite. She truly was a traditional homemaker. In her most recent days, Angie loved spending time with her best friend since childhood, Dena Foregano, her partner Eddie, fur baby (Chloe) and most of all her five grandchildren, Samajae, Jimera, Jimmy Jr, Jerrisha and Ava. Angie loed to dance and sing. She could take you to church with her beautiful voice. She loved looking nice, one of her favorite things to do was getting her hair and nails done. Angie was the life of the party wherever she went and could always make you laugh. She was not the kind of woman to bite her tongue, but yet she was so loving, giving and caring with a heart of gold. To know her is to love her.
