Obituary of Mark Anthony Givins

On April 8, 2021 God sent forth his angels to escort his beloved son, Mark Givins home to his final resting place. Mark was born on November 30, 1960 in St Paul, MN. Mark was the 4th child of Bertha J. Givins and the son of Russell Caldwell. He attended Webster Elementary School before attending Mechanic Arts High School. As a child, Mark attended Mount Olivet Baptist church with his grandmother Pearl Douglas and was a permanent fixture at the Ober Boys Club in St Paul. Mark was a member of the Elks Drum and Bugle Corps. He blew the bugle. Mark was loved by all of his family and extended family. He had a good heart and was incredibly intelligent. He would have a deep conversation about life with anyone. Mark had a small group of friends (Frank) that he was very close to. We can all think of a ‘Mark' or ‘Dewy’ story if we try. Mark had very high class and expensive "Mancini’s & Murry’s Steak House" taste. The family is very humbled by the loss of our loved one. He will be so.…so missed. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Givins and Russell Caldwell. He is survived by his sisters, Dana Ojemelon (Henry), Sherree Strickland (Van), Octavia Caldwell; his brothers, Michael Douglas (Hazel), Donnie Carraway; his aunt, Ione Wiley; oldest cousin, Della Sookie Branson; his nieces, Jurean (James), Lynnaia (Scott), Danishia, Amber (Stephanie), Morgan; his nephews, Jermaine, Sundiata (Penny), and Jordan; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Love you, Mark! Service 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28th at the Spielman Mortuary Chapel, 344 W. University Ave., St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.).
