Jerry is survived by his sisters, Shirley Stanley Bonner, Janice Johnson (John) and Julie Kargbo (Abdul); and brothers, James Stanley III, Alvin Stanley, David Stanley (Stacie), and Marshall Stanley, all of Minnesota, and Dennis Stanley of Indiana, aunts, Mrs. Corene Crenshaw, Mrs. Mary Louise Hunter and Mrs. Roberta Hawkins, all of Minnesota, and Mrs. Juanita Culliver and Mrs. Mary Hawkins, both of Alabama. Other important persons in Jerry's life, whom he leaves behind, include his surrogate son, Jermaine G. Brown. Recognized as Jerry's longtime, main buddies are Ms. Joyce Lipsey, who was Jerry's closest friend and is a great friend of the entire Stanley family; Ms. Veronica "Rochelle" Yarber; Mr. Carl Varrie and the Varrie family; and special friend, Mrs. Linda Ballard. Above all, it should be emphasized to the whole world that Jerry especially doted on each and every one of his nephews and nieces, and they all adored him. He took an especially keen interest in influencing and developing the character of all the youths in his family. Jerry was an outstanding, superhero uncle. Also, Jerry leaves behind a host of other beloved relatives in a large, extended family, and many friends, associates and acquaintances, mainly in Alabama, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Florida, Georgia and Ohio. Jerry grew up and lived mostly in Michigan City, Indiana. He graduated from Rogers High School and attended La Porte Business College. Jerry was employed at Speedway in Michigan City for more than 10 years. A Michigan City memorial service is being planned for a future date. As a person, Jerry was the best the Stanley family has to offer. We have suffered a devastating loss. Our hearts are crushed at the prospect of our lives without our Jerry. His ready smile and laughter will be missed by so many on this Earth. We are only comforted by our faith that Jerry is now in the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
